Lockdown 2 has been lifted after four weeks of national restrictions and non-essential retailers are now able to reopen their doors.

Sunderland, and the rest of the North East, has been placed under Tier 3 restrictions – the highest alert level – which means, unlike other areas of the country, restaurants, bars and pubs must remain closed other than to provide a takeaway service by delivery or collection.
