Northumbria Police have arrested a 46-year-old Sunderland man on suspicion of attempting to incite an underage girl in a sexual act.

The man was arrested on Sunday, August 2 and he has been released on bail. Officers have confirmed that investigations are ongoing.

A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Yesterday (Sunday), a 46-year-old man from Sunderland was arrested on suspicion of attempting to incite an underage girl in a sexual act.

“He has been released on police bail. Inquiries are ongoing.”
