Car fire

AN ELECTRICAL fault is being blamed for an early morning car fire.

Crews from Stranton Fire Station were called to Studley Road, in Hartlepool, at 3.50am today by a passer-by who saw a vehicle on fire.

It is believed the fire started near the front door of the grey Vauxhall Corsa that was parked in a lay-by in the road.

The interior was badly damaged in the blaze, which firefighters have put down to an electrical fault.
