Christmas wedding bells magic

THERE'S magic in the air when wedding bells and Christmas bells intertwine.

And that's exactly what happened for Wayne Green and Leanne Campbell when they tied the knot in a wedding with a really festive feel.

There was less than a fortnight to go to Christmas when the Hartlepool pair walked down the aisle at St Hilda's Church - and followed it with a Yuletide-style reception at the Historic Quay in Hartlepool.

Leanne, 29, said: "There was a Christmas theme. We had Christmas crackers for place cards and they had favours inside.

"We had lanterns filled with snow and there were loads of Christmas trees about. It was lovely. It made it feel really special."

Leanne and Wayne, 26, met during a night out. Leanne, who works as a trainer for 16 to 18-year-olds on NVQ courses, had also attended Henry Smiths School at the same time as Wayne, a warehouse worker for a furniture store.

But she said: "He was a few years below me and I couldn't really remember him."

They have now been together for around four years and got engaged in 2007 during a dream break to the Dominican Republic.

"Wayne had written a little poem for me," said Leanne, "and he had a ring with him as well."

"The poem described why he wanted to marry me. I said yes straight away."

The couple's wedding day will filled with magical memories and there to help them celebrate were best man Andrew Fletcher, bridesmaids Danielle Green, Jill Campbell and Laura Pinchen as well as flower girls Lucy Kennedy and Honey Andrews.

Page boy was Scott Skilberg while the two ushers were John Paul King and Steven Kennedy.

The couple enjoyed a first dance to the music of Bon Jovi.
