Copper man jailed for six months

A 20-YEAR-OLD man has been jailed for six months for trying to steal copper wiring from an unoccupied house.

James Hall targeted the house in Ingleside, Easington Colliery, before a neighbour became suspicious and rang police.

Durham Crown Court heard five lengths of copper wiring were found laid out in the back yard of the house and Hall, of Station Road, Easington Colliery, admitted burglary on May 9 this year.
