HOPEFUL: Lil Diamondz arrive for auditions at the ICC, in Birmingham

DANCE group Lil Diamondz head to the stage as they aim to show the rest of Britain their talent on a primetime TV competition.

Fresh from winning one TV contest last year, the budding dance stars are now hoping to impress on the box again in the next series of Britain’s Got Talent.

The Hartlepool hip-hop team made the trip to the ICC arena, in Birmingham, aiming to wow the panel of judges featuring singer Alesha Dixon, actress Amanda Holden, funnyman David Walliams and the returning Simon Cowell.

Lil Diamondz, who are the junior outfit of award-winning group Ruff Diamond, are no strangers to the television cameras.

The crew were celebrating in September last year after being crowned national winners of Alesha’s Street Dance Stars, a television search for Britain’s best young dancers on CBBC.

And the group will be hoping that experience helps them through the rounds of the ITV talent show.

Dance stars and groups have proved popular on the show in the past.

Young street dancer George Sampson won the 2008 series aged just 14 and the year later dance troupe Diversity upset the odds and beat Susan Boyle to the crown.
