Fire started at college
POLICE are investigating after a fire was started in a derelict college.
A crew from Peterlee Fire Station was called to the former East Durham College building in Burnhope Way, Peterlee.
Fire chiefs say a small fire was started in the old sports hall and that police were already at the scene when they arrived.
The incident took place around 11.30pm yesterday and the crew spent 20 minutes dousing the flames.
