ORGANISERS have thanked a landscaping firm for their support ahead of the charity event.

Hartlepool-based Acorn Landscapes is the latest firm to become a sponsor of Miles for Men after donating £500.

Paul Turnbull, 42, of Acorn Landscapes, said: “We are more than happy to help out and there will be a couple of the lads taking part on the day.”

Organiser Michael Day, a single dad-of-three of Innes Road, said: “I would like to thank Acorn Landscapes for its support.

“Some of its guys will be taking part in the challenge, which is great to see.

“This is just the start of their support for Miles for Men.”

Miles for Men wrist bands will also be on sale for £2.

Registration takes place on the day between 10am and 10.30am at Customs House, in Maritime Avenue.

Miles for Men will then start at Customs House, at noon, and finish at Seaton Carew Cricket Club, in Elizabeth Way.

Afterwards, people can enjoy a funday with a barbecue, bar, children’s entertainers, rides and live music.

The cricket club will open at noon for supporters to welcome in the runners, with celebrations continuing until 6pm.

The event has attracted support from a number of organisations including Niramax, Able Clean, Streamline Taxis, Stonecraft, Pins & Needles, printers ANF and Teesside Audi, based in Stockton-on-Tees.

Entry costs £10 per person and for more information call the Miles for Men direct line on 07447309436 or Michael Day on 07403329145.
