Flights to hotspot take-off

FLIGHTS to Jersey are in high demand as an airport gets ready to launch its summer programme.

Journeys to the holiday hotspot in the Channel Islands are operated from Durham Tees Valley Airport by Airways Holidays and begin on Saturday.

There is limited availability on departures for the rest of this month and into June.

Melanie Fairs of travel agents Fairs Lloyds Travel, based at the airport, said: “Bookings have been very brisk already, but at present we are able to offer an excellent range of good deals and special offers through the summer.

“We are able to obtain some excellent exclusive discounts for clients and we work hard to ensure that they get the best prices and are encouraged to keep coming back to Durham Tees Valley.”

Jersey is popular with holiday makers for events such as the Battle of Flowers in August and the Jersey Live music festival at the beginning of September.
