Housing group’s vacancies

A HOUSING group is looking for people who want to make a difference to their community.

East Durham Homes (EDH) has vacancies for three tenant/leaseholder board directors, as well as three independent board directors.

Independent board directors can be from any area but EDH is particularly interested in hearing from people with a commercial background and skills and experience in finance, housing/support and asset management/development.

Board directors are paid, with an allowance from £1,600 per year plus expenses.

To be eligible to apply for one of the tenant/leaseholder positions, applicants must either hold a secure tenancy and occupy a property owned by Durham County Council and managed by EDH or have bought their residential property in East Durham, occupy the property and have a lease with Durham County Council.

EDH’s interim chief executive Paul Mains said: “This is an exciting time for the company and an ideal opportunity for people who want to make a real difference to the area.

“We have already received a good level of interest in the positions but we would welcome applications from any other tenants/leaseholders or independent people who are interested.”

To find out more, call EDH’s governance unit on 0800 0320835, email governanceunit@eastdurhamhomes.co.uk or visit www.eastdurhamhomes.co.uk.

The deadline for tenant/leaseholder applications is Friday, July 27 and Friday, August 3 for independent applications.
