Our perfect day went to plan

A FABULOUS day which passed without a hitch.

That's how Faye Ridgeway remembers her wedding day after tying the knot with husband Steven at Hart Church, in Hart Village, on the outskirts of Hartlepool.

"It was amazing, it was fabulous. We were both nervous but everything went to plan and it was the perfect day," said Faye, who works as a staff nurse in the cardiology department of James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough.

Faye - nee Appleby - was 23 at the time of her wedding and is now 24. Husband Steven is self employed and works as a chemical operator at Seal Sands.

The couple met at a wine bar in Hartlepool. Faye recalled: "It was my brother's birthday. Our two brothers were friends at school. We just got chatting."

That was seven years ago and three years later, Steven asked Faye to marry him - and he did it in a traditional style.

"We were getting ready for a night out and I was doing my hair. I turned round and Steven was on his knee proposing. It was a shock and I must admit I cried. I said yes straight away."

The couple from Clavering in Hartlepool enjoyed the perfect wedding at Hart Church - joined by friends and family.

Best man was Steven's brother, Andrew, while Faye had five bridesmaids.

Chief bridesmaid was Kimberley Beavis. She was joined by Lindsey Ridgeway, Lynsey Fox, Simone Dowson, and Susan Robinson.

The flower girl was Olivia Beavis while the page boy was Thomas Appleby. The two ushers were Terry and Kevin Appleby.

The couple held a reception at Shotton Hall in Peterlee where their first dance was to Amazed by Lonestar.

They enjoyed a two week honeymoon at Nissi Bay in Cyprus which Faye described as "absolutely beautiful".

The couple have asked to pay tribute to wedding photographer Bob Usher - whose photographs comprise today's wedding feature - and his wife.

Faye said: "He helped to make it a lovely day and make us feel at ease."
