Police appeal over A19

POLICE have issued a fresh appeal for information about how a car and a van were being driven along a busy dual-carriageway.

Traffic officers are asking motorists if they saw the black Vauxhall Corsa and white Fiat Doblo van on the A19 at around 11.50am on Wednesday, January 11.

They are said to have been travelling between the flyover near Portrack Lane, Stockton, and the A689 Wolviston interchange on the outskirts of Hartlepool.

A Cleveland Police spokeswoman said: “Two vehicles were driving along that stretch of road and police are investigating the manner in which they were being driven.

“Both vehicles left the A19 at Wolviston and continued westbound onto the A689.”

Anyone who saw the vehicles at any stage along the route is asked to contact PC Tina Lackenby, of the Roads Policing Unit, on (01642) 326326 quoting event number V5827.
