T-mobile raiders 'risking lives'
POLICE have warned that thieves who broke into a mobile phone transmitter station and stole around £10,000 of back-up batteries are putting themselves in serious danger.
Durham Police say intruders broke into a T-Mobile site between Trimdon Station and Kelloe and stole 24 batteries, worth 400 each, along with various lengths of copper cabling.
The incident is thought to have happened between August 19 and August 20.
The batteries are of a similar size to car batteries and police are urging people to be on the lookout and report anyone who offers them for sale.
Anyone with information should contact the Durham Police's non-emergency number 0345 6060 365 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
