FREE entry is on offer to see a heartfelt talk tonight by a family that campaigns for justice and democracy in Burma.
Anne, Tony and Declan Stokle have been working voluntarily on the Thai-Burmese border for 10 years delivering health education and raising awareness of the political and humanitarian situation there, as reported in the Mail.
They are speaking at the annual John Bell Lecture at English Martyrs School and Sixth Form College, in Catcote Road, at 7pm.
The lecture inside St. Anne’s Hall is called “One family’s campaign for justice, peace and democracy in Burma”.
The annual lecture, which is a tribute to the school’s first headteacher, the late Canon John Bell, is now in its 31st year.
Before the lecture, there will be music performed by members of the school’s orchestra. The lecture will be followed by light refreshments.
Free tickets have been handed out over the last couple of weeks but space is still available for people to turn up on the door and get a seat.
