Trapped girl, 7, cut free

A SEVEN-year-old girl had to be cut free after her knee became stuck in a seat.

Fire crews from Peterlee Fire Station were called to Eden Lane Park, in the town, at 8.30pm yesterday after receiving a call from the girl’s concerned parents.

The youngster had been playing on a covered metal seating area when she slipped and her knee got stuck.

Firefighters managed to free the girl by cutting a small panel from the structure.

The girl had been playing with her friends who told her parents who then raised the alarm.

She had been stuck for about 20 minutes before being freed.
