Trial date for 'death driver'

A MAN will stand trial in connection with the death of a cyclist.

Julian Wild, 42, pleaded not guilty to causing the death of Kevin Bratt by careless driving at Teesside Crown Court.

The Hartlepool dad-of-one was killed on Dalton Back Lane, between Greatham and Dalton Piercy, near Hartlepool, on July 11 last year.

The trial, expected to last three days, was adjourned for a date to be fixed.

Wild, of The Laurels, Dalton Piercy, was given bail in the meantime.
