Tribute to Queen in flags

A SHIP paid its own tribute to the Queen on the 60th anniversary of her accession to the throne.
Flags flew from every mast as well as the stern of HMS Trincomalee to mark the diamond jubilee occasion.
The dressing with masthead flags happens only on rare occasions and HMS Trincomalee Trust general manager David McKnight said: “It was a hugely important day to mark the 60th anniversary of the Queen’s accession to the throne.
“All of the masts are dressed with the masthead flags and it was quite noticeable”.
The decoration was a one-day-only event.
