North East pays tribute to 'great man' Captain Sir Tom Moore after private funeral service

Captain Sir Tom was laid to rest during a small service Bedford Crematorium on Saturday, February 27 following his death earlier this month.
His coffin was carried to the crematorium by soldiers from the Yorkshire Regiment while a Second World War-era C-47 Dakota performed a flypast.

Hide AdCaptain Sir Tom inspired many across the country when he walked around his garden to raise more than £30million for the NHS at the height of the pandemic during the first lockdown in 2020.
