A pedestrian has been seriously hurt in a collision on a busy Wearside road this morning.

The accident happened shortly before 8.30am at Dairy Lane's junction with Mulberry Lane.

A male pedestrian has been taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital suffering from serious injuries.
