NEALE Cooper will today begin the search for a new loan signing after admitting Samuel Adjei could have played his only game for Hartlepool United.
The Swedish forward signed a one-month loan deal at Victoria Park on Friday but lasted just 30 minutes of his debut during Saturday’s 1-1 draw with MK Dons before succumbing to a hamstring problem.
Adjei is back on Tyneside today where he will be assessed by Newcastle United’s medical staff and Cooper fears supporters could have seen the last of him in a blue-and-white shirt.
“He’s going to see the medical people in Newcastle and they’ll assess him,” the Pools chief explained.
“But a hamstring for me is usually three to four weeks.
“It’s a shame because he looked exciting.
“The crowd liked Sammy straight away and I thought they would.
“He worked hard and closed down and showed his pace getting at people.
“But then that happens, it’s bad luck but you can’t dwell on it.
“If Sammy has to go back then we could look to bring someone else in if we can, hopefully.”
