Pools set to sign former favourite Steve Howard
Steve Howard
HARTLEPOOL United will today complete the signing of former favourite Steve Howard.
The 36-year-old, who was released by Leicester City this summer, will become Neale Cooper’s third addition of the close season following the arrival of Jonathan Franks and Simon Walton.
Howard began his career at the Vic in 1995 and scored 32 times from 162 outings over three years before a £120,000 switch to Northampton Town.
He then enjoyed spells at Luton Town and Derby County before a £1.5m transfer to Leicester City four years ago.
After 161 appearances and 32 goals for The Foxes he was released in the summer but will now rejoin his old club in time for their pre-season trip to Holland this weekend.
