Hide AdEverton keeper Pickford, 27, has been the Toffees No 1 stopper since leaving Sunderland in 2017 and has made 31 Premier League appearances this term.
Southgate has named a provisional squad so he can make decisions about players’ fitness after the Europa League and Champions League finals, involving Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea, this week.
England will then play two friendly matches at Middlesbrough’s Riverside Stadium against Austria and Romania on Wednesday, June 2 and Sunday, June 6 respectively.
Crowds will be allowed to attend both matches but tickets have sold out, with the stadium’s capacity capped at 25 per cent due to Covid-19 restrictions.
